Prayer From Jeremiah
July 9, 2015
My internet availability has been a bit sketchy for several days, so I am going to back-post some blogs that I shared a couple years ago when I was first working up to creating this website. I will eventually share them all at some time in the future, as they were written from my heart and still represent my feelings today.
Here is a prayer taken directly from various verses in Jeremiah. The exact verses can be found below.
I am so thankful that You have made plans for me, plans to prosper me and not to harm me, plans to give me hope and a future. I will call upon You and come and pray to You, and You are gracious to listen to me. I know that when I seek after You, I will find You when I seek You with all of my heart.
You knew me before You even formed me in my mother's womb. Before I was born, You set me apart. I am but a marred pot in Your hands, being formed into a new creation, shaped in the way that seems best to You. For I am but clay in the hands of You, my Potter. You are the Lord, the God of all mankind. There is nothing too hard for You.
I will not forsake You, my Spring of Living Water. I will not dig my own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water. Instead I will stand at the crossroads and look. I will ask for the ancient path. I will ask where the good way is, and walk in it. There You promise me rest for my soul.
I give thanks to You, Lord Almighty, for You are good. Your love endures forever.
Based on some of my favorite verses from Jeremiah 29:11-13, 1:5, 18:4-6, 32:27, 2:13, 6:16, 33:11
