"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens." (Ecclesiastes 3:1 NIV)

The past 8 months have been a season of change in my life, not in a bad way, just many changes. During this time my oldest daughter, Reagan, graduated from high school. The beginning of that same month I started a new job that was no longer in the town where our girls went to school last year. Suddenly, Mom was not available for all of the expected things I had always done, particularly as school was finishing up.

My new job, which I love, was A LOT to learn all at once. I THOUGHT that I had mastered the art of multi-tasking prior to this, but boy, did I have to up my game.

Simple grocery shopping was now a challenge too. Taking into consideration where we live and where I now work, I have three towns from which to pick to run my errands. However, it takes 45 minutes of JUST DRIVING to get from work to any of the towns and then back home. I realize that many of you probably already do that, but I was used to passing two grocery stores twice daily for the past 8 years. Now I suddenly needed to remember to load a cooler and ice pack into my van on the days I planned to shop.

Throw in the open house for Reagan, which was a major group effort to pull off, and I was truly at the maximum of what I thought I could handle at the time.

In addition, Chloe, who was finishing her 8th grade year, had chosen to attend a different school for high school, one where many of her friends from church went. Realizing that her sister was graduating, she was leaving her friends of 9 years and starting over at a new school, and now not having mom to depend on as regularly, she started having chest pains and difficulty breathing at times. So off to the doctor for tests!

Thankfully, she was diagnosed with asthma (most likely stressed-induced, if you ask me). But I realized that I needed to take a major "chill pill."

Change IS going to happen in life. Sometimes we like it and sometimes we don't. But seasons WILL continue to come and go. HOW we handle change is our choice.

So for this past time period, I have put my website and this blog aside until God made it clear that the seasons were changing again. And now the words are stirring inside my heart like a shoot waiting to burst forth from the ground. God has planted new seeds as well and a slightly new direction for the site that will offer me some flexibility with my current season of life.

So thank you for your patience and understanding, and for the many of you who have reached out letting me know that you missed these. Most won't be as long anymore (I typically spent 4-6 hours writing and studying for each past post), and you might see some video posts creep in as well. Yikes!

I'm also possibly moving the site to a new web platform that will work better for this ministry, but first I have to learn it--so please pray for me on that!

But as I sat down to study God's Word this morning, I was about to come out of my seat, antsy to write about what I had just read, so I thought, "what the hay... go for it! Rather than have everything all perfect first, my online friends can just go along for the ride with me." However, I wanted to fill you all in on the gap season first.

May God use whatever season of life that YOU are in right now to grow you and to glorify HIM!
